Principal Software Engineer – Kubernetes Expert – Seattle

Requirements

• Expertise in Kubernetes technology
• Skilled in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters (e.g., AKS, EKS, GKE, Open Stack)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes core components (Karpenter, cluster autoscaler, CNI, CSI, CRI, CRD, operators)
• Minimum of 5 years working with Kubernetes infrastructure
• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes projects
• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Bash)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
• Strong communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure
• Utilize Kubernetes Controllers, Operators, and Custom Resources to create scalable, highly available solutions
• Integrate tools like Karpenter for optimal infrastructure performance
• Architect middleware for MLOps integration, focusing on dynamic workload migration and resource disaggregation
• Develop systems for monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Implement cost-saving strategies through Fin Ops best practices in Kubernetes deployments
• Advocate for Kubernetes best practices while mentoring junior software engineers
• Work collaboratively across teams to enhance Kubernetes adoption in multi-cloud and hybrid settings
• Contribute to open-source initiatives within the Kubernetes community
