• Architect and implement solutions that enable internal and external customers to harness Byte Dance’s globally scaled content delivery network.
• Build metrics, tools, automations, visualizations and monitors to operate and optimize edge services.
• Develop procedures and workflows that improve efficiency, foster trust, and ensure compliance in operational processes.
• Run vulnerability and capacity assessment and develop disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability of global CDN services.
• Work in a fast-paced environment; participate in technical operations and rotations in response to performance and reliability issues.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to translate business requirements into actionable items and drive improvements in system design and operational procedures.

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 2+ years in CDN performance engineering, solution architecture, or site reliability engineering.
• 2+ years in one or more programming languages (Java, C++, Go) or scripting in Shell and Python.
• Preferred Qualifications: Self-driven, able to cope with ambiguity and drive projects to delivery.
• Experience operating in a multi-CDN environment.
• Experience with networking technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS) in a carrier-grade environment; CDN experience a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve real-world problems in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience designing, analyzing and building automation and tools for large-scale systems.
• Experience developing and operating one or more of Open Stack, Kubernetes, Nginx, ipvs, ELK stack, Hadoop, etc.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $177,688 - $341,734 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
