We are seeking a dynamic, strategically wired Foreign Military Technology & Investment Advisor to serve as a key architect across global defense-tech landscapes. This role drives high-impact analysis, investment insight, and operational coordination to support national-security aligned decision-making. You will assess emerging foreign weapons systems, dual-use technologies, and international investment trends while advising senior leadership on risk, opportunity, and strategic response.
This role thrives at the intersection of intelligence, technology, economics, and security policy—operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, high-stakes mission environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Technology & Investment Analysis
Evaluate global military technologies, capability developments, and emerging defense-industrial trends.
Conduct assessments of foreign investment flows, M&A patterns, techno-economic positioning, and potential national-security implications.
Track geopolitical, regulatory, and legislative developments that may shape global technology access, export controls, or foreign acquisition pathways.
Support the development of policy recommendations, strategic guidance, and high-visibility briefings for senior leadership.
Provide analytic insight grounded in multi-source information, open-source data, and classified materials (as permitted).
Monitor and report on foreign defense R&D, space and cyber capabilities, weapons proliferation, and dual-use platforms.
Coordinate with internal security, intelligence, and policy stakeholders to ensure synchronized assessments and mission alignment.
Support executive-level workflows with accurate, timely, mission-critical analysis.
Program & Project CoordinationContribute to program management requirements including reporting, milestone tracking, risk management, and stakeholder coordination—maintaining the same rigor reflected in ODNI-aligned program structures.
Prepare weekly and monthly status updates, analytic reports, trend summaries, and decision-ready documentation.
Support complex operational planning, technical working groups, and strategic reviews.
Security, Compliance & Information ManagementMaintain strict adherence to security classification rules, information-handling procedures, foreign-contact reporting, and insider-threat guidelines.
Support clearance-related documentation, personnel vetting, and sensitive-data controls in accordance with organizational policy.
Ensure all research, written products, and communications align with Federal, IC, export-control, and foreign-investment compliance frameworks.
Executive-Level EngagementDeliver concise, high-impact briefs to senior executives, mission leaders, government partners, and interagency stakeholders.
Translate complex technological and geopolitical developments into actionable strategic insights.
Serve as a trusted advisor in shaping investment posture, acquisition sensitivity assessments, and international partnerships.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in International Relations, Engineering, Security Studies, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
7–12+ years of experience in intelligence analysis, foreign military assessment, defense technology research, foreign investment review, or similar mission areas.
Experience supporting U.S. Government, DoD, IC, or national-security-sensitive programs.
Ability to operate within classified environments while managing sensitive information in accordance with strict security policies.
Exceptional research, analysis, and communication skills, with the ability to brief senior-level audiences.
Demonstrated experience navigating complex, rapidly evolving mission priorities.
Desired QualificationsPrior experience with foreign investment security review processes (e.g., CFIUS), export controls (ITAR/EAR), or defense-industrial base analysis.
Familiarity with global military modernization trends and emerging technology ecosystems.
