Join our dynamic legal team at Amazon Web Services and become a pivotal force in shaping innovative technology solutions! You'll be at the forefront of supporting Just Walk Out technology, providing critical legal guidance that enables product development while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Key job responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel for Just Walk Out technology initiatives, identifying potential risks and developing strategic mitigation approaches
- Advise on complex regulatory issues including payments, accessibility, and procurement compliance
- Negotiate technology agreements and contribute strategic input to business development
- Develop innovative legal strategies that balance risk management with technological innovation
- Support cross-functional teams in launching new products and features

Your day will be filled with intellectual challenges and strategic problem-solving. You'll collaborate with business leaders, dive deep into emerging technology frameworks, and translate complex legal concepts into actionable business strategies. Expect to engage in dynamic discussions, craft creative legal solutions, and play a crucial role in bringing transformative technology to market.

About the team
We are a collaborative and forward-thinking legal group within AWS that views legal counsel as a strategic business partner. Our team is committed to enabling innovation while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. We pride ourselves on being proactive problem-solvers who understand that legal expertise is about empowering business growth, not just mitigating risks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent

- Experience with technology risk, IT security audit, compliance and/or relevant regulatory knowledge
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication

- Experience with technology transactions, data privacy, procurement, or payments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
