As a Product Designer focused on AI/BI experiences, your mission is to make advanced analytics, generative AI, and business intelligence intuitive, trustworthy, and actionable for both technical and non-technical users.
As a Product Designer focused on AI/BI experiences, you won’t just design dashboards or workflows. You’ll design how humans and AI think together.
You’ll help define what it feels like to ask a question of your company’s data in plain language — and receive an answer you can trust. You’ll shape how insights are generated, explained, challenged, and shared. You’ll craft the bridge between complex AI systems and real human decisions. You’ll be working closely with the product and engineering teams based in Seattle.
Impactyou will have
- Reimagine how users explore data using natural language and AI assistance
- Design interactions that make AI-generated insights transparent and trustworthy
- Create experiences that move from exploration → validation → action in minutes
- Enable collaboration between data engineers, analysts, and business leaders
- Help define new design patterns for AI-native enterprise software
- Influence long-term AI/BI strategy, contributing to how Databricks differentiates in the modern analytics landscape.
- 5+ years of product design work experience.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent, with specialization in HCI, Interaction Design, graphic design, computer science, or related disciplines.
- Comfortable talking to strategic customers in key decision‑making positions.
- Experience shipping great digital products and overseeing the entire process from idea to GA.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large and complex design projects and balance the needs of diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to execute beautiful visual and interaction work that’s rooted in a data‑driven and well‑researched UX process.
- A system thinker with vision for the big picture and ability to break it down so engineering can succeed incrementally.
- Combination of technical knowledge and visual design skills to design powerful and intuitive engineering tooling.
- A portfolio showcasing the end‑to‑end design process.
- Experience designing products in the Cloud, Developer Experience, AI, or Big Data space is a nice‑to‑have.
- Coding (React, SQL, CSS, and/or Python) is a nice‑to‑have.
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $137,600 — $189,200 USD.
