Job Summary

This position is open to Internal King County Department of Information Technology (KCIT) employees. Only current KCIT employees will be considered. The King County Department of Information Technology is seeking a Mobile Device Coordinator to join our team. This role supports King County’s mobile device fleet of more than 12,000 devices and serves as a key liaison to over 140 King County Telecom Coordinators.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating mobile device orders, managing inventory and product offerings, and resolving activation and ordering issues. The Mobile Device Coordinator also develops and maintains documentation, delivers system training, and provides support related to carrier contracts and invoicing.

Job Duties
  • Act as primary point of contact for 140+ King County Telecom Coordinators.
  • Provide support and training to Telecom Coordinators by assisting with mobile device ordering, activation escalations, maintaining documentation, and troubleshooting device issues.
  • Coordinate with account representatives at Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T to maintain King County’s inventory and billing portal with updates on the latest product offerings, rates and prices.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of mobile device inventory management in MDSL portal; escape portal issues to MDSL.
  • Maintain wireless carrier portal access for KCIT, MDSL and IMMT.
  • Approve invoices for payment to Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T.
  • Meet regularly with vendors such as MDSL, IMMT, Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.
  • Maintain King County Telecom Coordinators access in MDSL and provide instruction to navigate the portal when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
  • Advanced experience providing mobile device support, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues; proficient in advanced cell phone technologies with strong diagnostic skills.
  • Experience in managing relationships with cell phone vendors, coordinating procurement, and ensuring service quality.
  • Experience maintaining accurate inventory of mobile devices, providing usage and billing reports, and coordinating procurement to ensure availability and compliance.
  • Extensive experience managing and optimizing SharePoint and Intranet sites, including content updates, permissions, and site architecture.
  • Experience updating, creating and maintaining documentation.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including maintaining focus on the customer issue amidst a bustling, fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience and comfort with Outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort with the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and other O365 applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Effective problem solving skills including decision making, time management & immediate prioritization of tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to quickly & effectively prioritize work time in various departments to meet business needs.
  • Positive attitude towards peers and leadership, ability to learn from mistakes, and proactively seek feedback.
  • Ability to focus on the details and approach problems logically and rationally.
  • Demonstrated skill in evaluating and integrating new technologies to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
Hybrid Work

KCIT works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is the King Street Center, 201 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
