Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA). As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert‑level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud‑based systems.

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers including public sector. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you will provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses.

We are looking for an SQL Analytics Specialist Solutions Architect to join our AWS team. This individual will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and work directly with AWS customers to design cloud‑based analytics solutions using Amazon Redshift and the broader SQL Analytics ecosystem (including Redshift Serverless, data sharing, Amazon Redshift ML, zero‑ETL integrations, Data Lake architecture, Iceberg tables, S3 tables, Athena, and the Sage Maker Lakehouse).

You will help customers build the data foundation required to get the most out of their AI projects and investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:

    Invent, etc.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best‑in‑class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
  • 3+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
  • Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
  • Knowledge of open table formats, especially Iceberg.
  • Understanding of data foundation principles supporting agentic systems.
