Position: NW Deployment Planner II, GND - Planning, Implementation, Coordination (PIC) Team

Role Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovations they rely on. The Global Network Delivery organization seeks a highly motivated Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. Responsibilities include scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations, reviewing project forecasts, and ensuring physical infrastructure resources are available for execution.

You’ll work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity, and will provide instructions to local data center installation & deployment technicians to facilitate smooth execution.

The ideal candidate possesses a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of Amazon’s sophisticated network architecture, is highly autonomous, detail‑oriented, and has strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing network deployment projects, networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.

The position offers high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks and to assist in developing innovative automation and scaling approaches as we expand. The role requires working in a fast‑paced, ambiguous, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement.
  • Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
  • Know network cabling and optic types.
  • Apply best practices and methodologies for cabling infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with common networking terms.
  • Use excellent judgment and analytical skills; prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs. Strong prioritization and time‑management ability.
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.
  • Apply core project‑management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical‑path management. Remain well‑organized and work effectively under time pressure.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in project management.
  • 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
Salary & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $76,900.00 – $ USD annually for USA, VA, Herndon and $80,200.00 – $ USD annually for USA, WA, Seattle. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
