Software Engineer - Data Platform Enablement

Summary

The Software Engineer 2 on the Data Platform Enablement team builds and operates infrastructure and tools that power data and reporting across the company. This hybrid role in Seattle focuses on automation, cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), and running services on Kubernetes to improve platform reliability and developer productivity. You will own end-to-end solutions, participate in incident response, and build internal tools and web applications to simplify platform use.

• Build and maintain automation for Big Query datasets, access permissions, and governance workflows at enterprise scale.
• Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes using CI/CD pipelines, Git Hub Actions, and Terraform.
• Own platform reliability: monitor with New Relic, respond to Pager Duty alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and automate fixes.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including cost optimization, security compliance, and resource lifecycle.
• Develop internal tools and web applications to improve data platform usability and developer workflows.
• Write documentation, perform peer code reviews, and share knowledge through demos and technical discussions.

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in a general-purpose language (Python preferred) and strong engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) and familiarity with data platforms and SQL.
• Experience or strong interest in containerization and Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Comfort in a platform or SRE-oriented role, including on-call and incident response responsibilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; strong communication skills and a bias toward automation.
