Cloud Computing, Systems Engineer
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Delivery Consultant for its Professional Services team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing AWS solutions that meet customer technical requirements and business objectives. You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, assess existing infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies. The position requires a US citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
The role involves leading implementation, ensuring best‑practice adherence, optimizing performance, managing risks, and providing guidance on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Mentor and train team members and develop reusable artifacts.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience with software development life cycle from conception to delivery.
- Experience designing, planning, and implementing cloud application or database migrations.
- Active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences in pre‑sales environments.
- Experience leading design, development, and deployment of business software at scale and/or hands‑on infrastructure architecture (network, compute, storage, virtualization).
- Experience in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments.
- Proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, Cloud Formation).
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python).
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Experience with AWS data/file transfer solutions including AWS Application Migration Service, AWS MGN, AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), and/or AWS Data Sync.
Base salary range and locations:
- Denver, CO – – USD annually
- St. Louis, MO – – USD annually
- Arlington, VA – – USD annually
- Herndon, VA – – USD annually
- Seattle, WA – – USD annually
