Position Summary
As a Datahall Design Service Delivery Director, you will lead and manage a team of DC Infrastructure Engineers responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of data center infrastructure solutions. You will oversee project execution, resource planning, quality assurance, customer engagement, and operational excellence across multiple data center design initiatives. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in data center infrastructure, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful service delivery aligned with business objectives and client expectations.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of DC Infrastructure Engineers responsible for designing and delivering data center infrastructure solutions including facilities structure, cabinets, overhead ladders and raceways, structured cabling, aisles (hot & cold), cabinets, mechanical, electrical, servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data hall design projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, quality standards, and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Drive capacity planning, resource allocation, and operational readiness to support scalable and efficient data center environments.
- Establish and monitor service delivery metrics, KPIs, and SLAs to ensure high levels of operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, facilities, networking, security, and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution and infrastructure deployment.
- Review and approve technical designs, AutoCAD layouts, and infrastructure documentation to ensure adherence to design standards, operational requirements, and best practices.
- Lead issue resolution and escalation management for infrastructure-related challenges, ensuring timely troubleshooting and minimal operational impact.
- Implement and maintain governance, compliance, and security standards to protect data center assets and ensure alignment with industry regulations and company policies.
- Manage infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansion initiatives with minimal disruption to ongoing operations and customer environments.
- Develop and maintain operational processes, documentation standards, and knowledge-sharing practices to support consistency and operational continuity.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineering team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with emerging data center technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending strategic improvements to infrastructure design and service delivery capabilities.
- Support customer engagements, project reviews, and executive reporting by providing technical guidance, delivery updates, risk assessments, and operational insights.
- Strong knowledge of data center architecture, including network, compute, storage racks, Layer 2/3 networking, virtualization platforms, and colocation environments.
- Proven experience managing engineering or service delivery teams in large-scale data center, colocation, telecommunications, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of physical design standards, inside plant infrastructure, structured cabling, and IT security best practices within data centers and colocation facilities.
- Experience leading infrastructure delivery projects, operational support initiatives, and cross-functional technical teams.
- Solid understanding of public cloud infrastructure and cloud-native applications, preferably with experience supporting globally distributed production environments.
- Strong project management, organizational, and resource planning skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with experience handling escalations and complex infrastructure issues.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience reviewing or working with AutoCAD designs and technical infrastructure documentation.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CCNA, MCSE, VCP, or Autodesk Certified Professional are a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software and familiarity with data center infrastructure management tools preferred.
