Senior Software Developer Engineer, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance

The AWS Compliance & Security Assurance Engineering team is in the business of building customer trust. We are responsible for scaling AWS's ability to exceed the security and compliance expectations of our regulators, auditors, and customers globally. We design and build services that stand up to the scrutiny of external regulators and inspection by AWS's most security-sensitive customers. We leverage Generative AI to enhance our security and compliance capabilities.

• Design and implement agentic AI-based solutions that automate complex workflows and improve the efficiency of manually intensive operations, transforming how we handle compliance and security processes.
• Write high-quality code with thorough test coverage and mentor other developers so they can learn from your code reviews.
• Find out what it takes to engineer systems for Amazon Scale.
• Value talking about cattle‑vs‑pets, continuous resiliency and capacity testing as part of building software that works.
• Design highly available, secure, distributed systems of microservices, consult with peers and technical leaders to make them even better.
• Work on Agile projects that have high visibility while making continuous improvements to planning, design, implementation, testing, and operations processes.
• Have full ownership and operate the systems that you build based on real‑time customer data and demanding service‑level agreements.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with Generative AI tooling and security compliance automation.
• Strong background in distributed systems, security, and compliance audit processes.

The base salary range for this position is USA, WA, Seattle – $ – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
