AboutThe Role
AWS is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to join the Worldwide Public Sector Nonprofits practice. You will serve as the technical lead for a portfolio of nonprofit research organizations, helping them design and implement cloud architectures that advance science s role sits within a sales and business development team—your technical expertise will directly inform planning and strategy. You need consultative and leadership skills to launch projects on a trajectory to success and help diverse groups understand application architectures and integration approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Own the technical engagement and success of customer implementation projects.
- Design cloud architectures leveraging AWS services.
- Provide thought leadership on security best practices for applications, servers, and networks.
- Respond to RFPs and define implementation approaches.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
- Lead whiteboard sessions, technical deep‑dives, and presentations for audiences of all sizes.
- Capture and share best practices across the Solutions Architects community.
- Collaborate with and learn from other technical leaders in enterprise architecture.
- Mentor peers and customers while staying current on AWS innovations and industry trends.
- Travel up to 30%.
- 5+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- Experience working within software development or Internet‑related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
