Job Description & How to Apply Below

Location: Remote within the U.S., with client-site travel as needed (typically 25–50%)

Employment Type: Full-time

Function: Workday Supply Chain implementation leadership (end-to-end)

About the Role

We’re seeking a client-facing Project Manager / Workstream Lead to drive end-to-end Workday Supply Chain Management implementations for hospital and health system clients. The ideal candidate has been on the ground from Day 1 through go-live for at least 1–2 Workday SCM implementations, leading discovery, design, build, testing, data conversion, cutover, and stabilization. You’ll partner with clinical, supply chain, and IT leaders to deliver measurable value—standardizing procure-to-pay and inventory processes, tightening controls, and improving item and supplier data across acute and ambulatory settings.

What

You’ll Do
  • Lead discovery and fit/gap for healthcare supply chain (acute, ambulatory, procedural areas like OR/Cath Lab), covering procurement, inventory, supplier, and integrations.
  • Define project governance (charter, RACI, sprint plan), manage RAID logs, drive status reporting, and escalate risks with clear mitigation plans.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional delivery with Finance, HCM, Clinical, and Technology teams; align dependencies (chart of accounts, cost centers, security, approvals).
  • Oversee design & configuration of Workday SCM:
    • Item master, catalog, categories/UNSPSC, GTIN/UDI, units of measure, pricing/tiers
    • Approvals, business processes, security roles, reporting & analytics
  • Data strategy & conversion: lead mapping and validation for items, suppliers, pricing, locations, beginning balances, open POs; establish data quality rules and reconciliation.
  • Integration leadership: coordinate EDI (850/855/856/810), GHX or similar exchanges, barcoding/scanning, mobile, label/print, contract/pricing feeds, and ERP/clinical system touchpoints.
  • Testing management: plan and run SIT, end-to-end, performance, and UAT; design test scripts and acceptance criteria; track defects to closure.
  • Cutover & go-live: develop detailed cutover runbooks (freeze windows, inventory counts, balance loads), readiness checkpoints, command center, and hypercare playbooks.
  • Change management & training: partner on stakeholder mapping, comms, role-based training, and adoption metrics; champion standardization and policy alignment.
  • Value realization: define KPIs (e.g., on-contract spend, turns, PAR accuracy, PO cycle time), set baselines, and deliver executive-ready benefits tracking.
  • Quality & controls: enforce healthcare regulatory considerations (e.g., HIPAA awareness for PHI-adjacent processes), SoD, approvals, and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • 4–8+ years leading ERP/SCM projects with 2–4+ years focused on Workday SCM in provider/hospital environments.
  • Proven end-to-end Workday experience: minimum 1–2 Workday SCM implementations from discovery through go-live in a PM or workstream lead role.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare supply chain: procure-to-pay, inventory (PAR/stockroom), item master governance, vendor management, contracting, and price management.
  • Hands-on leadership with Workday SCM configuration and business process design (you can review/guide configuration even if a separate configurator is on the team).
  • Experience with healthcare integrations and supply chain networks: EDI (850/855/856/810), GHX/Vizient/Premier, barcoding/scanning, and device/label solutions.
  • Strong background in testing, data conversion, and cutover for SCM; comfortable leading physical inventory count approaches and reconciliation.
  • Consulting-grade communication: executive decks, status reporting, risk management, and facilitation across clinical, supply chain, and IT stakeholders.
  • Project delivery methods:
Agile/iterative and hybrid; adept with sprint planning, backlog management, and change control.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday-focused credentials (e.g., Workday Pro or Workday SCM certification) and/or PMP/PMI-ACP.
  • Prior experience transitioning from Lawson/Infor, People Soft, Oracle, SAP, Meditech, McKesson or similar legacy platforms to Workday.
  • Knowledge of OR/procedural supply workflows, implantable/consignment…
