Data Engineer, ORBIT (AMZL Operational Reporting and BI)

Amazon Logistics, Business Analytics team manages the delivery of tens of millions of products every week to Amazon’s customers. We are seeking a Data Engineer to build the next generation of analytics at the intersection of data engineering and AI.

• Build and deploy agentic AI solutions to improve Last Mile analytics and decision‑making.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt evolving AI/ML technologies (e.g., Bedrock, Bedrock Agents/Agent Core) and apply them to real business problems.
• Own and drive data quality initiatives for Last Mile, focusing on scalable and reliable solutions.
• Help the team scale by building simple, maintainable systems and mentoring junior engineers.

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• 2+ years developing and operating large‑scale data structures for business intelligence using ETL/ELT processes.
• 2+ years of experience with OLAP technologies.
• 1+ year in data modeling, SQL, and large‑scale data structures for BI.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
• Experience with at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS).
• Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM.
• Experience with non‑relational databases or data stores (object storage, document or key‑value stores, graph databases, column‑family databases).
• Experience building large‑scale, high‑throughput, 24x7 data systems.

• Ability to design simple, scalable solutions in complex and ambiguous environments.
• Deep care for data quality, ownership, and building reliable systems at scale.
• Continuous learning and applying new technologies to solve real business problems.
