Overview

Manager, Epic Enterprise Operations at Tegria provides leadership and strategic direction for Tegria’s Epic Technical Team, ensuring alignment with department objectives and delivery of measurable outcomes. The role guides operational execution, process optimization, and initiatives that support organizational growth. The position leads a multidisciplinary team supporting Epic environments and related infrastructure across multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of technical professionals (e.g., ODBAs, ECSAs, Cogito Administrators, and other infrastructure staff) supporting Epic environments across multiple customer engagements, ensuring system availability, security, and service quality.
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive consistent, high-quality service delivery across client environments.
  • Manage client relationships and coordinate team activities across customers; serve as a key point of contact for operational performance and service outcomes.
  • Partner with sales and business development to provide technical and operational input as needed.
  • Directly support client environments in Epic or infrastructure administration roles when required.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational plans, tools, and processes; contribute to standards, guidelines, and procedures for compliance and consistency.
  • Prepare and present operational reports, metrics, and updates for leadership; lead or participate in meetings and ensure timely communication of department status.
  • Own and manage client relationships, ensuring services are delivered per statements of work and agreed outcomes; coordinate work across single or multiple engagements.
  • Monitor and drive service delivery projects, including planning, coordination, facilitation, milestones, and decision support.
  • Analyze current-state processes, propose future-state improvements, and document outcomes using KPIs and formal closeout materials.
  • Mentor team members and customer counterparts to support successful delivery and long-term operational sustainability.
  • Contribute to internal team development—training, documentation, and knowledge resources; promote diversity, inclusion, and healthcare equity in practices and delivery.
  • Support talent growth through recruiting and team development activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one Epic technical certification (ODBA, ECSA, or Cogito Admin); multiple certifications preferred.
  • One or more relevant third-party certifications (Microsoft, Citrix, Red Hat, VMware, etc.; preferred).
  • Progressively advanced experience supporting enterprise healthcare IT systems (Epic or comparable EHR) in consulting, managed services, or healthcare delivery.
  • People management experience with direct supervision, performance management, and development planning.
  • Experience leading multi-customer or multi-engagement service delivery with accountability for operational outcomes.
  • Experience with statements of work, service-level commitments, or operational agreements; cross-functional collaboration (infrastructure, applications, security, PM, operations).
  • Budget management, resource planning, or staffing forecasts within defined guidelines.
  • Client-facing experience in discussions, reviews, or service delivery meetings.
  • Four or more Epic implementations or upgrades; broad knowledge of healthcare IT and Epic enterprise operations.
  • Operational knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Power BI, etc.) and Epic EHR operational environments (hosting, infrastructure dependencies).
  • Understanding of IT service management principles and healthcare regulatory and security considerations (e.g., HIPAA).
Employment Details

W2 project-based consultants will be expected to provide a computing device meeting industry standards and security practices to satisfy Project Services on behalf of Tegria. Salary range: 140,000–160,000.
