Earth Finance is hiring a Director or Vice President of Technology to lead our growing technology team. This full-time role is based in Seattle, WA.

This is a critical, hands‑on leadership position that requires a dynamic, startup mindset. This role is responsible for defining and executing an innovative technology strategy across Earth Finance, blending the rapid pivoting and ingenuity of an innovator with the essential operational rigor of an established firm. This role will drive the technological vision and development of external client‑facing products, while simultaneously ensuring the stability, security, and continuous operation (“keeping the lights on”) of all internal technology infrastructure, systems, and tooling.

This leader will serve as a strategic partner and deep technical executor, ensuring technology is a competitive advantage for the firm, with an unwavering commitment to security and risk management.

• Develop and communicate a comprehensive, long‑term technology strategy aligned with Earth Finance’s business goals and growth trajectory.
• Establish and enforce robust IT governance frameworks, including adherence to standards such as Lean ITIL and COBIT 5, to optimize service delivery and risk management without being dogmatic to the framework(s).
• Implement and champion best practices in Cyber Security across all technology domains to protect company and client data.
• Requires a deep understanding of the company's financial model, including how revenue is recognized, to ensure technology investments directly support profitable growth.
• Responsible for comprehensive Profit & Loss (P&L) management related to the technology department, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
• Oversees all IT vendor management, encompassing negotiation, contract review, and ensuring vendor performance meets Earth Finance's standards and strategic needs.

• Act as the key architectural owner for all systems and products, both internal and external.
• Be willing to “roll up their sleeves” and actively engage with the infrastructure, code, and architectural decisions, specifically within Google Cloud architecture and software development initiatives.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and secure internal tooling and external product platforms.

• Lead the implementation of standard, high‑quality software development lifecycle practices across all engineering teams.
• Instill a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement in software delivery.
• Champion and guide the use of modern development methodologies, specifically Agile development practices.
• Establish and manage rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) practices to ensure product quality and stability.
• Drive the adoption and maturation of Platform Engineering and Dev Ops principles, focusing on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code.

• 10+ years in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing a diverse technology portfolio (infrastructure, internal tools, product development).
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud architecture and administration.
• Competent in Microsoft Office environment with experience managing dual Office / Google architecture.
• Proven experience in software development and system architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Platform Engineering, Dev Ops / SRE practices.
• Expertise in Python and web languages like React and/or Vue.js.
• Understanding and expertise in the latest Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning technologies with a focus on Google Cloud Vertex AI and Gemini.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience implementing IT governance frameworks (e.g., Lean ITIL and Agile).
• Strong background in establishing and maintaining robust Cyber Security best practices and compliance.
• Expert knowledge of Agile development methodologies, QA practices, and modern Platform Engineering / Dev Ops principles.
