Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Retail Business Analyst with strong experience in Payments, System Integrations, or POS (Point of Sale) systems. The ideal candidate will bridge business needs with technical solutions, ensuring seamless retail operations, transaction processing, and system interoperability.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for retail systems, especially in Payments and POS environments
- Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to define functional and non-functional requirements
- Analyze payment workflows including credit/debit transactions, refunds, settlements, and reconciliation
- Collaborate with integration teams to support API integrations, third-party vendor systems, and middleware solutions
- Support implementation and enhancement of POS systems across retail stores
- Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and use cases
- Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validate system functionality against business requirements
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with retail and payment standards (e.g., PCI compliance awareness is a plus)
- Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams throughout project lifecycle
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Retail domain
- Strong knowledge of Payment systems (card processing, gateways, wallets, POS payments)
- Experience with POS systems (e.g., Client, Oracle Retail, Shopify POS, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with system integrations (APIs, REST/SOAP services, middleware)
- Proficiency in requirement gathering and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Pay Pal, etc.)
- Knowledge of Omnichannel retail systems (online + in-store integration)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis and reporting tools (SQL, Excel, BI tools)
- Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA is a plus
