Overview
Are you excited to help customers discover the hottest and best reviewed products? The Discovery Tech team helps customers discover and engage with new, popular and relevant products across Amazon worldwide. We do this by combining technology, science, and innovation to build new customer-facing features and experiences alongside advanced tools for marketers. You will be responsible for creating and building critical services that automatically generate, target, and optimize Amazon’s cross-category marketing and merchandising.
Through the enablement of intelligent marketing campaigns that leverage machine-learning models, you will help to deliver the best possible shopping experience for Amazon’s customers all over the globe.
- Develop and build critical services that automatically generate, target, and optimize cross-category marketing and merchandising.
- Enable intelligent marketing campaigns leveraging machine-learning models to deliver a high-quality shopping experience for customers worldwide.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities by diving into data and applying data science and statistics.
- Contribute to design, development, testing, and deployment of data-driven, scalable machine learning solutions in product recommendation.
- Set standards for scientific excellence in algorithm design, model structure, efficiency, and extensibility.
- Decompose complex problems into straightforward solutions and acquire domain expertise as needed.
- PhD, or Master’s degree and 1+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience with generative deep learning models applicable to the creation of synthetic humans (e.g., CNNs, GANs, VAEs, NF)
- Experience using generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and willingness to learn prompting and evaluation practices
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
