Job Overview
Kforce is seeking an onsite deployment & asset logistics Technician to support a large‑scale device refresh initiative for 2,000+ laptops. This is a hands‑on technical support role focused on receiving, validating, preparing, and deploying legacy Windows 10 laptops upgraded to Windows 11. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a high‑volume, process‑driven environment.
Responsibilities- Device receiving & intake: receive, inventory, and stage 2,000+ legacy Windows 10 laptops; verify equipment condition and completeness upon receipt; perform initial equipment validation to confirm hardware functionality; clean and physically prepare devices for reimaging and redeployment.
- Asset tracking & documentation: accurately track and log all devices using asset management systems; maintain detailed records including serial numbers, asset tags, device status, and deployment readiness; ensure chain‑of‑custody and data accuracy throughout the lifecycle process.
- Imaging & configuration: reimage legacy Windows 10 laptops to Windows 11 following standardized build and deployment procedures; validate successful imaging, OS configuration, and basic system functionality post‑build; troubleshoot and escalate imaging or hardware issues as needed.
- Packaging, shipping & distribution: package laptops securely for shipment in accordance with shipping and handling standards; generate and apply shipping labels and documentation; coordinate outbound shipments to end users or deployment locations.
- Deployment support: ensure devices are deployment‑ready, properly documented, and shipped on schedule; adhere to deployment timelines and volume targets.
- 1–3+ years of hands‑on IT support, device deployment, or IT asset logistics experience.
- Experience imaging and deploying Windows laptops (Windows 10 and Windows 11).
- Familiarity with device imaging tools (e.g., InTune, Autopilot, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and documentation.
- Comfortable working with high device volumes in a warehouse or staging environment.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle boxed IT equipment as required.
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale hardware refresh or migration projects.
- Familiarity with ITSM or asset management systems.
- Understanding of basic hardware troubleshooting (laptops, peripherals, docks).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Hands‑on, logistics‑ and staging‑based role (not remote).
- Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with repetitive tasks.
- Collaboration with IT deployment teams, asset management, and logistics partners.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Salaried personnel receive paid time off.
Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
