The Alexa Enterprise team is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives in a startup‑style environment, builds test frameworks from scratch, and is energized by the challenge of ensuring quality across cloud services, device software, and real‑world customer integrations.

• Define and own the end‑to‑end quality strategy for the Alexa Enterprise platform — spanning cloud services, device software, AI integrations, and customer‑facing experiences.
• Design and build test automation frameworks from scratch to support rapid iteration across a full‑stack platform (backend services, frontend, AWS infrastructure, device layer).
• Work directly with enterprise customers and field engineers to understand real‑world deployment patterns, failure modes, and integration challenges — then translate those into test coverage.
• Create benchmarking standards, test KPIs, and certification criteria that ensure platform reliability across customer verticals.
• Develop QA approaches that cover the full system: cloud services, streaming audio, device interactions, authentication flows, and third‑party agent integrations.
• Find, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution — be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of development.
• Collaborate with SDEs on testability of new features, participate in design reviews, and drive engineering best practices around test coverage and operational readiness.
• Mentor QA engineers and SDEs on quality standards, testing methodologies, and automation best practices.
• Organize data collection and analysis to inform pass/fail criteria for platform readiness and customer deployments.

As a Senior QAE on the Alexa Enterprise team, your morning might start by analyzing failure patterns from a pilot customer’s deployment — an authentication flow is failing intermittently and you need to determine whether it’s an edge case in the platform or a configuration gap in their environment. You design a targeted test scenario to reproduce it reliably and add it to the automation suite.

Mid‑morning, you review a new feature’s testability with the dev team — pushing for better observability hooks before it ships. After lunch, you update certification criteria based on patterns you’ve seen across customer integrations, then present quality metrics to the team and make the case for a stability bar that blocks the next release until a flaky interaction is resolved.

The Alexa Enterprise team builds AI‑powered solutions for businesses. We work with enterprise customers across healthcare, energy, retail, and insurance to deploy solutions that transform operations. Our team operates at the intersection of Alexa AI capabilities and AWS cloud services, partnering closely with AWS sales, product, and specialist teams to deliver customer outcomes. Engineers on this team have real ownership — from test strategy through production reliability — and the opportunity to shape quality standards for a platform in its early stages.

• 8+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
• 5+ years delivering test frameworks, tools, and leading QA projects and initiatives.
• Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role.
• Experience in manual testing.
• Experience in automation testing.

• 2+ years of UI automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience.
• Knowledge of at least one modern object‑oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective
  
  C.

Base salary range: 133,300 – 180,300 USD annually.
