Principal Design Technologist, Prime Video

The Principal Design Technologist on Prime Video’s PVXD Enterprise (PRIZE) team is a strategic technical leader responsible for defining the vision and delivering high-fidelity prototypes, building AI-enabled solutions, and providing design system and training support for enterprise-focused tooling.

• Define and drive the technical vision for design prototyping across Prime Video’s enterprise product portfolio.
• Lead and mentor design technologists and cross-functional partners (designers, PMs, engineers) from concept through prototype to implementation.
• Train and upskill PVXD designers and partners in AI tooling, vibe coding techniques, and prototyping capabilities.
• Build bespoke, AI-enabled solutions to automate undifferentiated work and streamline enterprise workflows.
• Provide design technology support for creating and maintaining an enterprise-focused design system, including component development and documentation.
• Architect and implement high-fidelity, functional prototypes (0-1 initiatives) for web-based enterprise platforms to validate concepts with customers and stakeholders.
• Establish best practices, technical standards, and prototyping methodologies for web-based enterprise platforms and operator tools.
• Influence product strategy through technical prototyping that demonstrates feasibility and customer value, particularly leveraging GenAI/ML.

• Architect prototypes for content delivery, marketing automation, production tools, and localization workflows using frontend technologies such as HTML/CSS/JS, React.js, Redux, and Motion.js.
• Run hands-on training sessions and workshops to upskill designers on AI prototyping tools and emerging GenAI capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with enterprise design system team to build component libraries, documentation, and ensure system consistency.
• Demo prototypes to stakeholders and senior leadership to secure buy-in and guide product decisions.

You will be part of the Enterprise Experience & Design Program Management team within PVXD, partnering with UX researchers, design technologists, and engineering teams to prototype enterprise experiences for internal and external partners.

• 10+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience.
• Online portfolio and front-end coding samples demonstrating leadership and technical depth.
• Proven experience developing visually polished, highly fluid UX prototypes at scale.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical teams and influencing product strategy through prototyping.
• Experience training and enabling design teams to adopt new tools and technical capabilities.
• Experience contributing to or building design systems (component development and documentation).
• Experience prototyping and scaling internal tools from concept to implementation.

• Knowledge of databases and AWS database services (Elastic Search, Redshift, DynamoDB).
• Extensive experience with machine learning tools and GenAI applications.
• Experience establishing technical standards and best practices for design technology teams and presenting technical work to executive leadership.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and rapid prototyping tools.
