ADO Implementation Project Manager

Job Description

Seeking an Azure Dev Ops (ADO) Implementation Lead who functions more like a technical Project Manager / tool implementation lead. This individual will focus on configuring, optimizing, and operationalizing ADO as a task management and delivery platform within a regulated environment. The focus is on tool implementation, configuration, and enablement, not building systems from scratch.

• Act as a subject matter expert on ADO capabilities and best practices
• Guide stakeholders on:
  • Feature selection
  • Workflow design and optimization
  • Field and process customization
• Configure and implement:
  • Kanban boards and task tracking frameworks
  • Backend customizations within existing system constraints
  • Integrations across tools and platforms
• Support Jira-to-ADO migrations and help map workflows accordingly
• Provide light support on CI/CD pipelines (not primary ownership)
• Troubleshoot and continuously improve ADO configurations and usage

• Strong experience configuring ADO:
  • Boards, workflows, custom fields, automations
• Experience implementing and optimizing task management / PM tools (ADO preferred)
• Experience integrating ADO with external tools (e.g., Git Hub, Slack, Power BI)
• Experience supporting migrations from Jira or similar platforms
• Understanding of how ADO supports end-to-end delivery and workflow management
• Ability to translate business needs into system configurations
• Technical foundation with ability to understand data flow and system impacts ADO Administration background
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., manufacturing, aerospace, enterprise)
• Experience with:
  • Advanced Jira workflows
  • Permission schemes
  • Exposure to reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale ADO implementations
