Hardware Technician

As a key member of the Hardware team, you will be responsible for manufacturing and deploying the hardware technologies that power our Computer Vision and Machine Learning (CV/ML) platform. These systems include camera and computer vision solutions, edge and embedded computing devices, IoT sensors, and automated access control systems that operate in real-world environments.

Unlike traditional electronics manufacturing, our hardware is highly integrated, application-specific, and deployed directly into customer environments. This role requires a hands‑on technician who is comfortable assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and improving a wide variety of electromechanical systems while maintaining a strong focus on quality and reliability.

You will work closely with Hardware Engineering and Technical Operations teams to support the in‑house production and deployment of approximately 100 hardware systems per month. Success in this position requires adaptability, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to manufacturing excellence.

• Assemble, configure, and test electromechanical hardware systems, including cameras, sensors, embedded computers, and access control devices.
• Perform soldering, cable fabrication, component installation, and rework as needed.
• Follow established manufacturing and quality control procedures to ensure reliable system performance.
• Maintain organized and accurate assembly documentation, test records, and production procedures.
• Support the creation and maintenance of assembly instructions and manufacturing documentation for new and existing hardware products.
• Manage inventory of hardware components, consumables, tooling, test equipment, and lab supplies.
• Assist with incoming inspection, material tracking, and inventory accuracy.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify root causes of hardware failures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and scalability.
• Coordinate packaging, shipment, and logistics activities for hardware being deployed to customer sites, warehouses, and field locations.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, shipping carriers, and operational stakeholders to support deployment activities.
• Support lab organization, equipment maintenance, and safe operation of manufacturing and testing areas.
• Assist Hardware Engineering teams with prototype builds, validation testing, and hardware development activities.

• 2+ years of experience as a Hardware Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Electronics Technician, or similar role.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical fabrication, assembly, and electronic prototyping.
• Experience soldering, performing rework, and assembling electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with test and measurement equipment such as:
• Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and assembly documentation.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering lab, or production environment.
• Comfortable using computer‑based tools to support manufacturing and testing activities.
• Familiarity with hardware design files and exposure to CAD‑generated drawings.
• Basic command‑line experience and familiarity with terminal‑based tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of electronics lab safety practices and procedures.

• Experience working with camera systems, computer vision hardware, IoT devices, or embedded systems.
• Experience supporting low‑to‑medium volume manufacturing operations.
• Experience with inventory management, material handling, and production tracking.
• Familiarity with quality control, inspection procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware deployed in field environments.
• Exposure to Linux‑based systems and embedded computing platforms.
