Network Engineer, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations, Systems Engineer

Key Job Responsibilities- Build, deploy, and scale Amazon networks that support AWS, customers, and other business units across multiple global data centers.
- Create and implement network changes.
- Work closely with automation teams to define tools for scaling at higher volume.
- Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, technology refresh, best practices application, and optimization.
- Sustain next‑generation networks by diagnosing, mitigating, and resolving large‑scale networking events.
- Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platform performance, and configuration issues, including low‑level application interaction, Unix systems, and modern networking software tools.
- Drive and support innovation from Top Of Rack to the network border and everything in between.
- Partner with the broader Network/Infrastructure organization on engineering, configuration standards, and tools.
- Work with Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of new designs and products, and assist with deployment and sustaining of networking software tools.
- Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance with those standards and policies.
- Deliver simple, sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes.
- Collaborate with highest tier escalation engineers/resolvers.
- Create and review documentation and processes regarding network implementations, recurring issues, new SOPs, knowledge transfer material, etc.
- Work in a 24x7 on‑call rotation, with the ability to drive into the workplace for critical events or needs.
- Manage customers during problem resolution and operate efficiently under pressure.
- Spend scheduled work hours at the computer with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail.
- Travel to data center/network sites and Amazon/customer offices as needed.
AWS NFE (Network Fabric Engineering) owns datacenter network services that provide unconstrained connectivity to customers and manages the internal datacenter networks end‑to‑end, including scaling and operational functions.
Basic Qualifications- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
- 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
- 1+ year of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.

Salary and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is USD – annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
