Job OverviewAs a Senior Staff Backend Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure, this role focuses on Cloud Platform Infrastructure, services, and processes at their best to enhance reliability, system efficiencies, productivity, availability, scalability, and quality at 10X scale. The engineer will dive deep into business problems, understand current customer pain points and platform limitations, and work closely with engineering teams and leaders to design and architect new system and services leveraging cloud infrastructure that can scale 10X better in reliability, availability, performance, and efficiency.
The role includes providing system architecture artifacts, accountability on cloud infrastructure choices, guidance on machine types, network designs, deployment automation, and serving as a global team member across locations.
- Strong experience with Cloud Dev Ops tools and coding (CI/CD, IaC, Terraform, Python, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Git Hub, CircleCI, Jenkins, and infrastructure automation)
- Self‑service code development and end‑to‑end cloud deployment automation for application stacks
- Provide a roadmap and vision for scalable, robust growth to achieve 99.999% availability
- Strong technical analytical and design capability to recommend network and infrastructure solutions for shared platforms, web services, and APIs
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud service integrations
- Accountable for reliable, scalable, and optimized cloud architecture, design, and platform services
- Serve as Cloud Engineer for architecture, design, deployment, and maintenance of highly reliable and scalable applications
- Resolve complex technical problems in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud environments to improve operational excellence
- Deep dive into current cloud infrastructure and system architecture to provide strategic partnership and improvements on network usage, role management, CDN, domains, and security
- Analyze complex distributed production deployments and recommend ways to optimize performance and automate processes, managing continuous integration servers and monitoring tools
- Identify opportunities to make disruptive improvements in cloud infrastructure usage, operations, and services through systematic automation
- Expert knowledge in sub‑millisecond latencies, scalability, 99.999% uptime, and enterprise architecture best practices
- Exercise technical influence over multiple teams, increasing productivity and effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge and experience
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and lead engineers on mission‑critical projects
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 15+ years of hands‑on cloud platform engineering experience
