Cloud Systems Engineer; Azure Infrastructure - F2F

Work Arrangement

Hybrid schedule: 2 days onsite required. Team generally supports the 8 AM 5 PM timeframe. Flexible schedule as long as work is completed and quality is maintained. On-call rotation required: approximately 1 week every 5 weeks.

Cloud Systems Engineer (Azure Infrastructure)

Contract-to-Hire / Full-Time – 6 months

• 5+ years supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, including cloud environments.
• Strong Azure experience:
  • VMs
  • Networking
  • Storage
  • Identity
  • Governance
• Power Shell and Terraform experience.

• Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance.
• Fin Ops experience (Azure Cost Management, right‑sizing, Reserved Instances).
• Proven technical leadership experience (ownership, mentoring, and guiding peers).

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, including cloud-based environments
• Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity management, and governance
• Experience supporting Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments
• Strong Power Shell scripting experience
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience supporting enterprise‑scale cloud operations and infrastructure

• Experience supporting Azure migration projects
• Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance experience
• Familiarity with Azure Automation
• Knowledge of Fin Ops and cloud cost optimization strategies
• Experience using Azure Cost Management tools
• Experience developing right‑sizing and Reserved Instance (RI) strategies
• Higher education, healthcare, or large enterprise experience

• Design, configure, and support Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, identity services, and monitoring solutions
• Support Azure migration projects, including readiness assessments, validation, operational configuration, and post‑migration stabilization
• Build and maintain automation solutions using Power Shell, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
• Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance environments
• Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, security, governance, and cost efficiency of Azure workloads
• Implement and maintain backup, patching, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues
• Conduct cloud cost optimization reviews and recommend improvements
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and support critical incidents
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and business teams
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
