AWS is looking for an experienced Global Trade Compliance Program Manager to build upon our controls and oversight program and support our expanding business on a broad range of global import and export compliance matters. This role will have a heavy focus on leveraging technology and data to scale internal validations. The team member will build a best-in-class internal review program and interact with multiple AWS internal business units and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance.
This position will report to the Manager of Global Trade Controls and Oversight for AWS in Arlington, VA.
- Identify and define a plan of action to advance AWS’ internal validations program.
- Build communications and training plans to ensure all internal and external partners are aware and aligned to trade controls and risk mitigation.
- Manage global import/export regulatory or procedural changes that impact the trade compliance governance program. Clearly communicate changes and associated impacts to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain data-driven metrics and monitor for actionable insights that enhance the trade controls program.
- Establish and manage positive business relations with key stakeholders and business teams.
- Generate and contribute to performance requirements, timelines, and metrics for all related activities.
- Proactively identify and drive automation, simplification, and process improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain a strict adherence to reporting and assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working cross-functionally across several teams.
- Experience in customs.
- Experience with data analytics platforms (Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau).
- 1+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies.
- Master’s degree or above.
- Experience in Trade Compliance and/or Supply Chain industry (customs agent/officer, compliance specialist, or customs operations).

Compensation includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
