IT Systems Engineer

The IT Systems Engineer owns the systems infrastructure layer running the company’s business operations. This role is with an exciting space startup, offering a unique opportunity to build from the ground up alongside a generous equity package
. Responsible for managing access across all business tools, rolling out SSO/identity management, building cross-system integrations, and standing up data infrastructure, this position works closely with departmental teams and reports directly to the Director of IT.

• Map and maintain a live catalog of every tool, data flow, and permission set across the organization
• Own admin access and configuration on all business systems as the platform layer teams build on
• Onboard new tools into the stack: configure, integrate, document, and maintain
• Ensure all systems operate within IT visibility and compliance frameworks

• Roll out SSO and SCIM across the full stack via Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD)
• Maintain provisioning and deprovisioning workflows across all tools
• Enforce access controls in alignment with least-privilege principles and compliance requirements

• Build integrations to eliminate manual data transfer leveraging M365 and Power Automate
• Configure direct API integrations (REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth) where native connectors aren't available
• Manage Drata integrations to support the compliance program (ITAR, CMMC Level 2, DFARS)
• Own backup and recovery configuration across all business systems
• Route integration data to a centralized, greenfield data store to support reporting and analytics
• Develop BI dashboards and reports as systems are connected and data becomes available
• Lay the data infrastructure foundation to eventually connect to mission operations and spacecraft telemetry

• Hands-on experience administering business systems across a broad tool stack (identity, HRIS, ERP, CRM, finance)
• Practical knowledge of SSO and SCIM provisioning, preferably using Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD)
• Ability to build system integrations using iPaaS tools and work comfortably at the REST API layer
• Comfort working in compliance-sensitive environments with a strong focus on security-aligned configuration
• Ability to work independently, drive tasks to completion, and bring proactive solutions
• Demonstrated curiosity, self-directed learning, and a willingness to dive into unfamiliar tools

• 3+ years of experience in IT/IS systems administration or enterprise systems engineering
• Demonstrated experience with SSO/SCIM rollouts, with Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD) strongly preferred
• Proven ability to work with REST APIs to construct requests and troubleshoot responses for system integrations
• Experience administering business systems across multiple platforms (HRIS, ERP, CRM, finance, project management)
• Strong fundamentals in access management, system integrations, and data flows

• Experience with Microsoft 365 GCC-High or other FedRAMP-aligned environments
• Experience with Power Automate, Workato, Make, Boomi, or comparable iPaaS tooling
• Familiarity with Drata or similar GRC/compliance automation platforms
• Exposure to data warehouse or BI concepts like Power BI, Azure Synapse, or Fabric
• ISC2 CC certification, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
• Experience in or genuine interest in aerospace or space technology
