IT Project Manager, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations
A Technical Project Manager reports to the PMO while partnering with the engineering manager; our TPMs play a critical role in structuring and executing impactful cross-org initiatives. You will have the opportunity to refine our processes around delivery while building a sense of community and engagement within our talented group of engineers. TPMs have a high degree of technical literacy and a desire to learn more, both within their teams’ product space and across the department and division.
They are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable quickly switching roles and adapting to changing priorities. They thrive in ambiguity and deliver exceptional results despite frequently changing priorities and direction. You should bring a passion for collaboration and team building to help evolve and optimize process and product delivery.
- Enhance team throughput by removing roadblocks and leveraging organizational resources while helping to drive teams towards commitments
- Foster cross-team coordination and communication
- Assist with estimation and planning of team resourcing, in conjunction with engineering team manager
- Identify, maintain, and visualize metrics to guide the project lifecycle
- Lead agile ceremonies as required for one to two teams of engineers
- Develop fundamental technical understanding of the tools and services vended by your team
- Partner with engineering leadership to define roadmaps, scope deliverables, and track high-impact metrics measuring team performance, health, and engineering velocity.
- Lead discussions with senior leadership regarding prioritization, roadmap planning, roadmap execution, and fulfillment of Objectives and Key Results.
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience managing technical projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, developing and executing project plans and delivery commitments.
- Deep-rooted passion and proven track record building motivated and collaborative teams
- Detail-oriented and excellent communication skills; ability to follow technical discussions and absorb technical documentation
- Track record of creating and growing trusting, lasting professional relationships with diverse stakeholders, maturing team’s current engagements and advocating for future work.
- Experience in leading teams through improvement via process re-engineering
- Demonstrated tenacity and comfortable with ambiguity
- Tools expertise including Airtable, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), Google Suite, and Slack/MS Teams or similar
- Experience working with distributed teams and/or distributed organizations
- Working understanding of cloud- based development and a desire to know more
- Experience as a scrum master and knowledge of agile methodologies
- Project management certification(s)
- Working understanding of AWS and cloud-based development, and a desire to know more
- Familiarity with large-scale observability and data tooling such as Datadog, including metrics pipelines, event streaming, and distributed systems
- Experience with modern data science practices, including model development workflows, advanced AI development using large language models (LLMs) and neural networks.
