Description

For over 15 years, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud computing platform. What is cloud computing? Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of IT resources over the Internet.

In 2019, Amazon announced The Climate Pledge, which includes our commitment to power our operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025, on the path to achieving net zero carbon across our businesses by 2040. To learn more about AWS, visit  and

The AWS Environmental team is an expanding and dynamic team critical to enabling AWS's growth around the world. The team has responsibility for architecting and implementing AWS's global environmental programs — defining risk management systems, setting global policies and procedures, developing standards, tools, and metrics, and engaging with all AWS business units to provide scalable environmental strategies that support current and future business objectives.

The Global Construction Environmental Program Manager will own and scale the Construction Environmental Program (CEP) across all AWS data center projects worldwide. Built on ISO 14001 principles, the CEP transforms how environmental management works across global construction by establishing environmental performance standards during construction and enabling AWS to deliver consistent outcomes. This individual will set strategic direction, drive program development, and lead cross-regional execution from design phase through to handover, working extensively with senior stakeholders and business partners to ensure construction projects are managed effectively across the global portfolio.

Key

job responsibilities
  • Own and drive the global Construction Environmental Program, setting strategic direction, key deliverables, goals, and metrics across all AWS regions
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMR) framework, integrated into General Contractor agreements globally
  • Lead regional CEP Program Managers in rolling out and maturing the program across their regions, ensuring consistency of environmental standards across all AWS owned and permitted sites
  • Work extensively with senior stakeholders and business partners — including Construction Managers, Regional Environmental Engineers, AWS Environmental Legal, Infra Ops, Design Engineering, Real Estate, and Procurement — to ensure construction projects are managed effectively
  • Provide program-level oversight and strategic direction for AWS shell builds globally, working with Regional Environmental Engineers to assess projects and implement appropriate mitigation strategies prior to build start
  • Ensure Root Cause Analyses and Corrections of Errors are completed on time and recommendations are implemented across project teams
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Regional Environmental Engineers, Regional CEP Program Managers, and Construction Managers
  • Develop global documentation, templates, and SOPs; track and report program metrics, goals, and performance to leadership and business partners
