Essnova Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer to support a federal customer in designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing enterprise Microsoft cloud environments. The ideal candidate is a technical leader with deep expertise across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, identity management, endpoint administration, and cloud security who thrives in highly regulated federal environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments.
- Administer Microsoft Entra , Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity governance solutions.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Purview, and other Microsoft security platforms.
- Support hybrid Active Directory environments and endpoint management using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.
- Implement Zero Trust security principles and cloud security best practices.
- Support Microsoft collaboration platforms including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online.
- Develop cloud monitoring, reporting, and cost optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to improve enterprise cloud operations.
- Produce technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FedRAMP, and other applicable federal cybersecurity standards.

This position supports a federal customer in a hybrid work environment. Candidates should be located within reasonable commuting distance of the Washington, DC metropolitan area and be available to work onsite as required.
Required Qualifications- Demonstrated experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 enterprise environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Conditional Access, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and MFA.
- Experience administering Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture and cloud security principles.
- Experience supporting hybrid Active Directory environments.
- Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity frameworks, FedRAMP, and federal cloud security requirements.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Microsoft 365 certifications.
- Experience supporting federal government environments.
- Experience leading enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.
- Public Trust (Tier
2) clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
