We are hiring a senior data professional to support enterprise data strategy, data migration, and data governance activities for a large-scale public sector modernization program. This role will help guide data architecture, migration planning, governance standards, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, and compliance across a complex system-of-systems environment.
The ideal candidate has strong experience leading enterprise data initiatives, working with legacy modernization programs, and collaborating with business, technical, vendor, and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead enterprise data architecture, data governance, and/or data migration efforts.
- Support modernization of legacy data environments into cloud-first platforms.
- Define data standards, data models, metadata, lineage, and governance processes.
- Lead or support data profiling, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
- Embed privacy, security, regulatory compliance, and data quality controls into data designs and processes.
- Collaborate with state agency stakeholders, vendors, architects, cybersecurity teams, analysts, and program leadership.
- Prepare data architecture documentation, migration plans, governance artifacts, runbooks, scorecards, and executive-ready materials.
- Support Agile ceremonies, design reviews, risk discussions, and program planning activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT, data analysis, data architecture, system modernization, or enterprise data environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on leadership in data architecture, data migration, data governance, or enterprise data management.
- Experience with enterprise data models, data flows, metadata, lineage, data quality, and governance practices.
- Experience with SQL, No
SQL, APIs, ETL/ELT, cloud data platforms, and integration patterns. - Experience supporting large-scale data migration or modernization projects.
- Working knowledge of privacy, security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with public sector, healthcare, insurance, workers' compensation, or regulated data environments.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar data platforms.
- Certifications such as CDMP, Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
- Experience with Master Data Management, data stewardship, enterprise governance, or data quality tooling.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
