King County Department of Infomation Technology is searching for a new Security and Privacy Business Manager to serve as the principal business manager and strategic adviso
r to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Deputy CISO. Supporting the operational, financial, and organizational functions of the Security and Privacy Division. This position supports high-impact security and privacy initiatives, oversees division reporting and performance metrics, and represents the division in cross-functional planning efforts. Success in this role requires exceptional judgment, political acumen, relationship management, and the ability to influence executive decision-making in a dynamic and highly visible environment.

- Serve as the principal business manager to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Deputy CISO.
- Assist CISO and Deputy CISO with strategic planning, governance, business operations, and performance management.
- Direct budget development, financial management, procurement, contract administration, and resource planning.
- Support and coordinate executive governance processes, leadership meetings, and cross-department coordination.
- Lead portfolio management, work intake, prioritization, and organizational planning.
- Develop executive communications, executive briefings, presentations, and reports.
- Build collaborative relationships with County departments, executive leadership, external agencies, and vendors.
- Lead special initiatives, organizational improvement, and change management.
- Develop executive dashboards and performance metrics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To be considered for this role, you must at a minimum demontrate knowledge, skill and abiliy to perform the following job duties:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Prior experience supporting a Chief Information Security Officer or cybersecurity office with strategic planning, budget, governance, project management, communications, and change management.
- Strong political acumen, executive communication, relationship management and organizational leadership skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy programs, business management principles and change management principles.
- Experience supporting executive leadership within a large, complex public-sector or technology organization.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or other relevant certifications.
