About this position

The IDB Group is looking for an active undergraduate student to be hired as an intern under the Consultant modality.

The 2027 Winter Internship Program is a competitive paid opportunity, based in Headquarters, for university students from member countries to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job learning.

What you’ll do
  • Support AI initiatives by validating data accuracy, testing user workflows, and optimizing knowledge bases.
  • Plan and execute engaging virtual and in-person networking activities to foster meaningful peer connections among new hires.
  • Provide end-to-end logistical and operational support for virtual and HQ in-person onboarding events and orientation sessions.
  • Design and deliver "Train the Trainer" sessions for onboarding facilitators to ensure consistent, high-quality program execution.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date orientation guides, toolkits, and onboarding reference materials published on the New Hire Intranet.
What you'll need
  • Education
    :
    An active undergraduate student in Human Resources, communications, journalism, international relations, social sciences, or related fields from an accredited University. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
  • Languages
    :
    Fluency in English with a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.

    Learn continuously, collaborate and share knowledge, focus on clients, communicate and influence, innovate and try new things.
  • Soft Skills
    :
    Results-driven, team-oriented, inclusive, collaborative, innovative, and client-oriented, with strong self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and excellent time management and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • HR Information Systems:
    Comfortable navigating information systems and project management platforms. Can input and retrieve employee data and track onboarding progress.
  • Designing Effective Learning Materials:
    Create clear, engaging, and accessible onboarding resources (e.g., guides, tutorials, checklists).
Requirements
  • Citizenship
    :
    Be a national of an IDB member country.
  • Active student
    :
    Enrolled in an undergraduate (bachelor’s) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
  • Consanguinity
    :
    Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
  • First job at the IDB Group
    :
