We are looking for a Surety Underwriting Specialist to join our team in either of the following offices:
Seattle WA, Lonetree, CO or Alpharetta, GA!

Summary:

Under limited direction, independently underwrites and markets assigned products by providing high levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability.

• Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building
• Participates in the producer management process which may include but is not limited to, premium collections
• Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions
• Conducts analysis and applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of risk acceptability
• Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits
• May ensure credit quality of accounts managed while maintaining and updating underwriting files

• Bachelor’s degree; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Minimum 5 years’ related Surety UW experience within P&C Commercial Insurance AFSB Designation preferred
