Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage

We are seeking a new Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage to join our team. Your role will be to defend pre-litigation and litigated matters, provide legal advice to insurers, and litigate primary and excess coverage for all types and lines of coverage. We foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment in which junior and mid-level attorneys are mentored by experienced Shareholders. This is an excellent opportunity for associates looking to expand their skills under the mentorship of some of the state’s top insurance coverage attorneys.

The ideal candidate will have experience preparing insurance coverage opinions and litigating coverage and extra-contractual matters. Excellent research and writing skills are a must.

• Research and write coverage opinions, providing legal advice to a wide array of insurance clients.
• Review claim files, underlying claim materials, and policy language.
• Prepare comprehensive coverage analysis and Reservation of Rights letters.
• Meet annual billable hours requirement of 1,850.

Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:

• Doctorate Degree
• License to practice law in Washington State and Federal courts (preferred).
• 2 - 4 years of insurance coverage experience (preferred).
• Litigation experience (required).
• Trial experience (preferred).
• Ability to work creatively and develop innovative legal strategies.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Strong insurance knowledge.

Salary range for this position is $110,000 - $170,000 per year (plus bonus/commission).
