Overview
This role offers an excellent opportunity for 0-3L law students as a prosecutor, defense counsel, and victims legal counsel within the United States Marine Corps. The prosecutor will gain early hands-on legal experience by handling criminal cases, preparing legal documents, and representing the government in court proceedings. The role includes researching legal cases, presenting arguments, cross-examining witnesses, and advising on legal matters.
As an integral part of the USMC, the prosecutor will contribute to upholding military law while developing advocacy and litigation skills in a structured but dynamic legal environment.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and foundational law concepts
- Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills
- Effective verbal communication and advocacy skills, including public speaking
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently in high-pressure environments
- Commitment to upholding justice, accountability, and military legal ethics
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited law school (0-3L students qualified)
- LSAT 150+
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to meet military commissioning requirements
- Proactive and adaptable with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity
