Insurance Coverage Attorney

A global law firm is looking for an insurance coverage associate to join its Seattle office. This attorney should have a passion for all things litigation, strong advocacy skills, and an ability to work independently. While this position will focus on representing insurers in coverage and bad faith cases, there may also be opportunity to defend corporate clients in commercial litigation, catastrophic loss, and wrongful death claims.

Experience drafting pleadings and motions, handling discovery and depositions, along with top writing and legal research skills are a must.

Qualifications:

• Admitted to the Washington State Bar, or able to waive in promptly.
• 2-10 years of insurance coverage experience strongly preferred, but will consider candidates with commercial litigation experience and a desire for an insurance coverage practice.
• Experience drafting motions and pleadings, legal research, legal analysis, handling discovery, taking/defending depositions, and court experience.
• Mediation experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing insurance policies and drafting coverage opinions strongly preferred.
• Ability to proactively identify key legal issues.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive matters.
• Strong communication, analytical, legal writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, with an ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented and well organized.
• Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.

Compensation Range & Benefits:

• $125,000 - $200,000.
