An established law firm with a strong presence in Washington State is seeking an experienced Estate & Tax Planning Attorney to join its Seattle office. This role is designed for a mid-level associate (4+ years) who is comfortable handling complex estate planning and administration matters with increasing independence.

This Trusts and Estates - General Attorney position offers substantial client contact, tax research exposure, and the opportunity to manage sophisticated estate structures. Attorneys in this practice work collaboratively while enjoying meaningful autonomy and long-term growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft sophisticated estate planning documents including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies and estate tax planning
  • Assist with probate and trust administration matters
  • Prepare and support estate tax return filings
  • Conduct tax research under the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations
  • Maintain direct client relationships and manage ongoing advisory matters

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration
  • Strong familiarity with estate and gift tax principles
  • Familiarity with the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations preferred
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • LLM in Taxation preferred but not required
  • Active Washington Bar admission (Washington Bar required)
