We are seeking a Hardware Commodity Specialist to join a team that handles one of Amazon’s fastest growing commodities – Battery Backup Units (BBUs). In this role, the candidate will manage procurement and related operational supply chain activities in close collaboration with both internal and external cross‑functional teams. These activities are critical for AWS to achieve continuity of supply and cost goals.

Responsibilities
  • Be a self‑starter who can work in a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment.
  • Utilize excellent analytical capabilities and supply chain experience.
  • Dive deep into data sources to debug data‑related issues and maintain strong writing skills.
  • Raise the bar on delivering the right supply at the right time, actively participating with strong curiosity to understand the business end‑to‑end and influence decision makers using data.
  • Understand forecasting, demand planning, material planning, and manufacturing processes to verify supply commitments.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to forecast battery demand and manage supply positioning globally to support last‑mile operations.
  • Own capacity planning with key OEMs and optimize the supply chain network to best deliver for customers.
  • Collaborate with analytics and software development teams to drive operational excellence.
  • Develop analytical tools and dashboards to track metrics, monitor SLAs, and report findings.
  • Drive end‑of‑life (EOL) management, collaborating with engineering, DC operations, and finance to ensure cross‑functional alignment on supply, product roadmap, and budget requirements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration, or operations experience.
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration, or operations.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Python.
  • Experience with global supply chain management, managing cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced consumer electronics product company.
  • 4+ years of program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process experience.
  • Experience in program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process.
  • Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
  • Knowledge of the battery industry/market.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
