- Create, manage and implement the strategy for Final Mile Standard and Paid Upgrade Shipments from Nordstrom fulfillment centers, stores, and suppliers to customers and Nordstrom stores.
- Partner with Digital leadership to evolve, manage and implement the strategy of international shipments from Nordstrom fulfillment centers, stores, and suppliers to an external supplier domestic consolidation point and to the final destination.
- Collaborate with Transportation & Logistics, Distribution, Product, Engineering, Customer Care, Fulfillment Center Operations teams and a variety of external stakeholders to define optimal outbound shipment and transportation processes & performance expectations and deliver at a high level.
- Assess and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the outbound final mile network and carrier configurations focused on speed, service, quality and cost of our customer deliveries.
- Analyze carrier performance and cost-efficiency initiatives across business units, ensuring alignment with service standards and financial targets while fostering strong carrier partnerships through evolving omni-channel capabilities.
- Assess, develop and implement creative customer-focused outbound transportation solutions to achieve key factor goals and balance service, speed, quality and cost performance.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Freight Payment and Audit teams and external stakeholders to best leverage outbound truckload and parcel carrier contract agreements and ensure best practice invoicing and freight payment practices.
- Understand and utilize systems and carrier networks for intelligent routing, tracking and receipt of customer outbound shipments.
- Apply data analysis, problem solving and project management skills to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and regularly communicate updates and performance to the leadership team.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business or Engineering desired.
- Graduate Degree or MBA a plus
- 5+ years of transportation, logistics, engineering or supply chain work experience
- Demonstrated teamwork and influencing / negotiating skills to drive successful results with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Strong creative problem-solving skills, business acumen, and a customer-focused mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable in a fast paced and collaborative work environment
- Ability to develop reporting for functional area, coupled with the ability to use analytical and artificial intelligence tools to organize and interpret data, present ideas and create continuous improvement projects
- PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office applications.
