Position: Sr. Supply Chain Manager, Sub Same Day

Description

We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will handle ambiguous initiatives independently, using domain expertise to define problems, determine goals, and design long-term solutions for our ultra-fast fulfillment network. You will work both tactically and strategically, driving innovation and solving complex problems in supply chain planning, forecasting, and network optimization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Independently manage complex supply chain initiatives with considerable impact
  • Design and deliver end-to-end solutions for complex supply chain challenges in our fast-paced fulfillment environment
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, writing strategic narratives and communicating across diverse functions
  • Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies that balance speed, cost, and service performance
  • Mitigate long-term risks and make strategic trade-offs between short and long-term needs
  • Drive process improvements that impact long-term organizational goals across programs and potentially multiple countries
  • Lead supply chain modeling and design projects from concept through implementation and scaling
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, Product, Technology, and Science to optimize supply chain performance
  • Manage forecasting, demand planning, and capacity planning to support rapid business growth
  • Develop new processes and mechanisms for the organization while driving operational excellence
  • Navigate and resolve contentious issues across stakeholder teams, building consensus and influencing without authority
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify root causes and implement scalable solutions
  • Negotiate complex agreements and manage supplier relationships to reduce risk and optimize performance

A day in the life

The Medium-Term Planning team bridges long-term planning and operational execution for all verticals - SSD Swift, Grocery FCs and RSR+ for Amazon's Rapid Rural Logistics (R2L) North America. We translate long-term capacity strategies into actionable quarterly plans that keep Amazon's last mile fulfillment network running efficiently, even during high-stakes events like Prime Week and Peak. Our team also manages long-term capacity and topology planning for Amazon Fresh in EU, UK, and JP plus Topology Planning for Whole Foods Market NA and Grocery Partnerships Worldwide.

About the team

Rapid & Rural Logistics (R2L) Supply Chain is responsible for the fulfillment strategy across the Amazon Faster-than-same-day Delivery network including capacity planning, network optimization, launch strategy and execution, and scenario-planning for our FCs. We are passionate about revolutionizing the delivery experience through innovative fulfillment solutions that enable speed. Our collaborative team combines analytical expertise with creative problem-solving to build and optimize our network to ensure we can maximize available capacity for customer demand.

We partner closely with Retail, Finance, Real Estate, Tech, and Operations teams to create sustainable solutions that delight customers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

  • Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
