Job Summary
We are seeking an International Logistics Coordinator for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a Seattle-based food and beverage production company supporting a busy global supply chain. This role is a strong fit for someone with ocean import, freight forwarding, import documentation, or international logistics experience who enjoys managing shipments from booking through final delivery.
In this role, you will coordinate approximately 10 to 12 ocean freight containers per week, primarily imports from Asia, while partnering with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking providers, warehouse teams, purchasing, accounting, and customer service. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and detail-focused, with supportive leadership and opportunities to build a long-term career path after hire.

Key Responsibilities- Manage international ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery and container return.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, suppliers, customs brokers, trucking companies, warehouse teams, and internal departments.
- Prepare and provide required import documentation and classification information for ISF and customs processing.
- Track containers, vessel schedules, delivery deadlines, drayage activity, pickups, returns, delays, and shipment status updates.
- Monitor activity to help avoid demurrage, detention, missed deadlines, and unnecessary freight-related costs.
- Troubleshoot shipment issues, communicate changes, and follow through until problems are resolved.
- Coordinate multiple international ocean import shipments at the same time.
- Manage shipment documentation, ISF support, customs broker communication, container tracking, and drayage coordination.
- Communicate shipment updates, delays, and changes to internal and external partners.
- Maintain accurate shipment and inventory information in internal systems.
- At least 1 year of experience in ocean freight imports, international logistics, freight forwarding, import coordination, or a closely related field.
- Working knowledge of freight forwarders, customs brokers, import documentation, container tracking, and drayage processes.
- Ability to manage a high-volume individual and group email inbox while ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-through.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly in response to shipment delays, schedule changes, and urgent logistics issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with multiple internal departments and external logistics partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and basic Excel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Experience with imports from Asia preferred.
- Experience in food and beverage production, consumer goods, manufacturing, or another high-volume supply chain environment preferred.
- Prior experience supporting inbound and outbound ocean containers, transportation, and warehouse activity preferred.
