Location:
Parkshore Madison Park, 1630 43rd Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112
- Receives instructions, blueprints and work orders for maintenance or facility upgrade projects.
- Develops working procedures and schedules for the job, material requirements, and other equipment as required.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment (plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc.) as directed, per established procedures.
- Understands the inventory/resources of the department and knows the facility layout.
- Prepares and organizes materials and equipment before starting a task.
- Cleans and maintains tools and equipment daily.
- Reports equipment/items needing repair to supervisor immediately.
- Notes any problems found or resident comments and submits daily to the supervisor.
- Responds to building emergencies during any time on or off shift as directed by the supervisor.
- Reports incidents/accidents, unsafe/hazardous conditions, and defective equipment to supervisor promptly.
- Notes and reports daily when supplies need ordering.
- Performs daily rounds and checks of various systems as assigned, including related record keeping.
- Relieves at reception desk as requested and may work overtime or other shifts as needed.
- Promotes the Vision, Values and Mission of Parkshore in all areas of responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Formal training in vocational school or trade apprenticeship is required.
- Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate with the team and perform tasks.
- Ability to respond to building emergencies and conduct oneself professionally at all times.
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay organized.
- Safety awareness and knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (local, state, and fire/building codes).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with staff and external consultants.
- EPA, boiler and air-conditioning certification.
- Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of construction trades.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions; work independently and as part of a team; flexible hours including weekends, emergencies, and holidays as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and collaboration with others.
- Maintain a high degree of cleanliness; physical ability to perform maintenance tasks indoors and outdoors; good manual dexterity with tools and equipment.
