The Roving Maintenance Tech is a customer‑service oriented individual who is committed to providing tenants and owners with impeccably maintained properties. The roving maintenance tech will lead by example and reports the day‑to‑day supervision to the Commercial Facilities & Roving Maintenance Manager;

A

Day in the Life
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of building, including but not limited to: electrical repairs (if in possession of a WS Electrical License), minor plumbing repair, general carpentry, painting, drywall and cleaning.
  • Perform unit turns including but not limited to: servicing appliances, plumbing and electrical, replace old or faulty parts, re‑key locks, replace burnt out light bulbs and interior painting.
  • Address and follow up as necessary on all residents’ work order requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies to ensure prompt repair and replacement of various items.
  • Work with Property Manager/ Supervisor and maintain knowledge of the applicable property’s budgets to ensure compliance.
  • Perform walk through of property as needed to ensure that immediate maintenance and custodial issues are attended to in a timely fashion. Walk through inspections should also include preventative maintenance to safeguard against foreseeable maintenance issues.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors and suppliers and work with them to produce the best product and pricing for the properties.
  • Perform or schedule maintenance on all systems of the properties including, but not limited to HVAC, boilers and elevators.
  • Some custodial duties may also be required including but not limited to; trash pick‑up and removal, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, pressure washing and other various cleaning tasks.
  • If necessary, oversee custodial staff and maintain their schedule for optimum building cleanliness.
  • Work proactively with business partners including all vendors and other personnel serving the property and its residents.
  • Works well with a wide diversity of people, honestly, ethically with integrity and a sense of humor.
Requirements
  • 2+ years general maintenance experience or equivalent training is required
  • At least two years working with the public preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with Washington State and city of Seattle Landlord‑Tenant Laws helpful
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
