Compensation & Benefits- Hourly pay: $20.00 – $21.00 /hr

Yard Worker – a full‑time position responsible for keeping the yard clean, safe, and organized while operating forklifts, saws, and other equipment to load, unload and move lumber and other materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Observe all safety procedures and practices.
- Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumber’s core values.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming yard for customers.
- Identify product codes quickly.
- Load customers with materials efficiently and courteously.
- Participate in building, shipping, receiving, loading, and culling.
- Use a forklift to load and receive vendor and customer vehicles.
- Move material on and off cantilever and sheet goods racking safely.
- Put away material neatly, adjusting for lost or damaged items.
- Use saws to cut sheet goods and dimensional products.
- Protect materials from inclement weather and cull to maintain quality stock.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- No previous experience required.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Basic computer and math competency (login credentials, punch, barcode scanner, understanding of fractions).
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly; proficiency in standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and visual abilities such as close, distance, peripheral, depth perception.
Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Store hours:
Monday–Friday 6:55 am–6:05 pm;
Saturday 7:55 am–5:05 pm.
Available schedules:
- Mon–Wed 6:40 am–6:05 pm;
Sat 7:40 am–5:05 pm - Mon–Fri 6:40 am–3:00 pm
Two‑week paid training on‑site or at the Training Yard, focusing on product knowledge, point‑of‑sale software, and yard operations. Training hours:
Mon–Fri 8:00 am–4:00 pm (required).
This entry‑level position requires working outdoors and in a warehouse setting with forklifts, tractor‑trailers, and customer vehicle traffic. Noise level is moderate to high.
