The Warehouse Foreperson II directs and coordinates warehouse activities of warehouse workers who receive, store, and distribute material and products from the dry warehouse.
Note:
Warehouse Foreperson II residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least eight hours of work is offered.
- Manages the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials
- Works with the purchasing group to ensure timely receipt of goods and facilitate production schedules
- Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling of disposition of merchandise and keeping of warehouse inventory
- Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions
- Directs reclamation or destruction of damaged merchandise
- Coordinates the layout and storage practices in the warehouse to stay in regulatory and BRC compliance
- Reviews bills for incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska.
- Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before
- Minimum of five years’ experience in warehouse/distribution center including experience with direct supervision of employees
- Knowledge of Interstate Shipping Regulations, Food Safety, and Audit procedures
- Forklift certified or able to become forklift certified and able to qualify for lift truck certification within two weeks of start date
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of warehouse systems. SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Intermediate experience using MS Office, specifically, Excel, Word and Power Point
