GENERAL MANAGER
Our General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the hotel, providing leadership and strategic planning to all departments to support or service culture, maximize operations and enhance guest satisfaction. We’re looking for someone who will lead the staff by example, foster a strong, cohesive team environment that builds confidence and strong morale, while retaining high retention.
ResponsibilitiesWhat to expect:
Here are a few things that will make your days full and rewarding:
- Monitoring the full range of operations and financial performance of the hotel while providing operational guidance to leaders and team members.
- Ensuring financial success of the hotel by managing expenses, controlling labor costs, and assuming overall responsibility for revenue management.
- Conferring with administrative personnel to review activity, operating and sales reports to determine changes in programs and/or operations.
- Facilitating the alliance between central reservations, group sales and property marketing efforts to support effective revenue and yield management principals.
- Accepting responsibly for the health, safety and welfare of hotel guests and team members.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and development of leaders and team members.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Hotel Management, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of seven years’ varied management experience in the hotel industry
- Familiar with OSHA, local Department of Health regulations and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances
- Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to a collaborative and diverse team dynamic
- Ability to devise effective solutions to guest problems in a timely manner in high stress situations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from owners, groups of managers, team members and guests
- Proven ability to develop budgets, manage financials, and analyze the effectiveness of operations
- Proven operational experience and a comprehensive understanding of the functions of housekeeping, front desk, engineering, and food and beverage departments
- Ensure that team members adhere to posted work schedules and take required breaks per city and state ordinances
- Customary and regular exercise of independent judgment and discretionary powers in the day-to-day performance of job duties
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
