The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of the credit processes for the region. Directs the accounts receivable control framework and will build and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Sales and Operational Organization and its key customers. Serves as a strategic role in the region that will oversee the focus on risk‑management, maximizing sales, along with hands‑on involvement in process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs the work of a staff of 15+ credit associates, including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Oversees the implementation of credit and collection operations, projects, policies, procedures and best practices across the region.
  • Ensures regional and local credit offices operate effectively and efficiently, follow common policies and procedures, and uses assigned resources in an efficient manner.
  • Identifies and incorporates best practice credit and collection policies, reporting and internal processes to maintain the highest level of quality accounts receivable.
  • Manages the credit review process of customers with experience in granting credit limits of up to $10MM dollars. Align total credit exposure for key accounts across all business units and regions, appropriate to decision thresholds and utilizing necessary escalation procedures.
  • Reviews daily, weekly and monthly credit and collections achieving assigned KPI’s.
  • Collaborates with internal departments and external customers to support the overall department goals, projects and objectives.
  • Monitors work, financials, and processes and takes action to ensure that they meet or exceed standards.
  • Maintains a write‑off authority of up to $100K.
  • Provides credit leadership to key areas impacting the management of the accounts receivable portfolio.
  • Works closely with Sales Leadership to understand sales strategies and build a collaborative relationship with the Sales Team.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with key controls.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience in Credit management.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES
  • Solid knowledge of the building products industry preferred or similar industry segment.
  • Solid knowledge of legal remedies in credit and collections, including liens, foreclosures actions, bond claims, remediation and arbitration.
  • Knowledge of best practices for credit and collection management.
  • Ability to use a logical and systematic approach to accurately analyze data, problems, and situations.
  • Ability to prepare and present financial management plans and concepts, and influence others.
  • Paralegal or C.C.E. a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
